AEC Industry Update
Marty Doscher, Vice President, Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Industry
Customer Experience Session: Manufacturing Buildings with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
Javier Glatt,CEO, CadMakers Virtual Construction
Javier Glatt will walk through real use cases of applying CATIA / DELMIA and ENOVIA 3DEXPERIENCE on cloud to large scale AEC projects. CadMakers has delivered various scopes of work on 35 projects worth over $3B in construction and will share examples of using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and integrated work flows to deliver design to fabrication to installation workflows that are saving significant time and money on complex projects. Examples will include: Complex facades, MEP prefabrication on heavy industrial, commercial and residential projects, automation examples with EKL + Scripting, with a case study on UBC Brock Commons Phase 1, an 18 story heavy timber building where all aspects of the building are being delivered design to fabrication to installation on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Customer Experience Session: Flying High with Boeing’s AerosPACE Program
Marc Martel, Senior Manager, Education Services
Like many manufacturers that rely on an annual flow of work-ready engineering graduates, Boeing has struggled to consistently find entry-level candidates with the skills it needs to stay ahead in the competitive aerospace industry. To address this real world experience gap, in 2014 Boeing launched Aerospace Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering (or AerosPACE). Modeled after NASA’s systems engineering workflow, the AerosPACE design process focuses on conceptual, preliminary and detailed design as well as prototyping and design for manufacturing. In this session, you’ll learn how engineering students at eight U.S. universities are teaming up to tackle a daunting challenge: to learn, over 28 weeks, enough about aerodynamics, manufacturing and collaboration so that they can design, build and fly an aircraft.
